OUR PROGRAMMES
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS
- Young people with the lowest family income (21%) were less likely to achieve a ‘good pass’ in their GCSEs compared to 75% of students with the highest family incomes –see here.
- Young people who received free school meals (26%) were less likely to enter higher education than their peers who were not in receipt of free school meals (43%) –see here.
- Young refugees and asylum seeking children face long delays in accessing education. In 2018, not a single region in the UK met the 20-day target for finding places for the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in their care –see here.
- In 2021, 5% of refugees have access to higher education compared to only 1% in 2019. However, this number remains below the 15by30 target (15% enrolment of refugee learners in higher education by 2030) – see here.
